The sooner the better

Getting in touch sooner can make their return to work journey easier.
Research shows that when contact is made with an injured in tguhe first three days post-injury,
the return to work outcome of psychological injuries increases by 63% and 26% in physical injuries.
Opening the lines of communication early after a workplace incident, whether it be physical or psychological, can make the return to work (RTW) process easier not just for you, but for the injured worker. To start, make sure you choose the right person within the workplace to reach out to the injured worker. This should be someone they work with directly like a line manager or team leader rather than HR, if appropriate.
