Completing your licence application

The application process involves seven steps to collect information that relates to your:                                                                                                              

  1. Organisation
  2. Business details
  3. Executive Officers, Influential Persons and Close Associates
  4. Suitable person test
  5. Financial information
  6. Applicant’s Compliance with relevant laws
  7. Summary and payment

Authorisations and definitions

User authorisation

You can authorise another person to be an administrative user on your behalf in the application process or whilst holding a licence. That person will be authorised to access and amend the information for the applicant when required. If you wish to authorise another person you will need to print and complete Form AA1 – Authorisation of Administrative User. You will need to retain this form and provide to the Commissioner (or delegate). The choice for this person can be amended subsequently, by completing and submitting another AA1 form to the Commissioner or delegate.

Definitions:

Influential Person – An influential person normally works within an applicant’s business and is a person who may exercise relevant power or is an executive officer in the corporation. Preferably, these positions should relate to individuals who have a responsibility for the day-to-day running/decision-making of operations for workers supplied in the Australian Capital territory. If a person holds multiple titles or positions, you only need to enter the person’s details once.

Close associate – A close associate is a person who is normally external to the applicant’s business (e.g. Accountant/Business Advisor) and holds a position that is concerned with the management of the business OR is able to exercise a significant influence in relation to the conduct of the applicant’s business because they hold a financial interest or is entitled to exercise a relevant power in the business.
